Repurposed

These are splatter paintings have rich layers of meaning. Please note these works are painted on “reclaimed wood.” Once discarded, Paul found and was inspired to use it for art. They are first painted to the edges, note the discarded state, no refinement takes place. Then, utilizing excess paint from spin art works, randomly creates these works. “I want to acknowledge the fringes of our culture and our society with placement of the work at the edges of the space as I create. The paintings show the way something from the fringes can be made beautiful and begs the question: How do we draw the discarded from the edge and show their beauty?” - Paul Bulgin May 21
